Polyurethane (PU) Flooring & Coating – BJN Industrial Flooring

About Polyurethane (PU) Flooring & Coating

Polyurethane (PU) flooring systems are tougher and more flexible than standard epoxy. They tolerate thermal shock, hot-water and steam cleaning, a wider range of chemicals, and UV exposure — making them the right choice for food, beverage, dairy and other wet or high-temperature environments.

BJN installs PU concrete (PU cement) flooring, PU self-leveling floors and PU top coats for industrial and commercial projects across Gurugram, Manesar and Delhi NCR.

Benefits

Thermal shock resistance

Handles hot spills, steam cleaning and temperature cycling.

Hygienic

Seamless, non-porous, easy to sanitise — suitable for food and pharma areas.

Chemical resistance

Resists many acids, alkalis, fats, oils and sugars found in food processing.

Impact & abrasion resistance

Heavy-duty PU concrete withstands trolleys, impact and pallet traffic.

UV stable top coats

Aliphatic PU finishes resist yellowing in sun-exposed areas.

Polyurethane (PU) Flooring & Coating – FAQs

What is the difference between epoxy and PU flooring?

Epoxy is harder and very good for dry, controlled areas. PU is tougher and more flexible, handles thermal shock, hot water and steam cleaning, and is more UV stable. Food, beverage and dairy units usually need PU.

Is PU flooring suitable for food processing units?

Yes. PU concrete is widely used in food and beverage plants because it is seamless, hygienic, and resists hot water, fats, oils and food acids.

How thick should PU concrete flooring be?

Typically 4–6 mm for general wet process areas and up to 9 mm where heavy impact and higher temperature exposure are expected.

Can PU flooring be used in cold storage?

Yes, PU systems perform well in cold rooms and areas with temperature cycling when correctly specified.
